ABOUT PCP
What we do
In a nutshell
Prejeance Capital Partners SAS (“PCP”) is an active investor in the Energy Transition requiring equity investments up to €8m, primarily with a greenfield profile.
PCP has already signed sustainable partnership agreements with project developers to help them secure equity and quasi equity, including via JVs, and support them. PCP is currently expanding its investments via partnerships and acquisition.
Created in september 2017, PCP invested in its first projects in 2018 and the first construction of its projects started late 2018.
Our ambition
PCP mainly invests in the renewable energy (“REN”) and in the energy efficiency sectors. In REN, PCP is currently prioritizing investments in solar PV and hydro assets, including auto consumption and energy storage projects. PCP will also consider opportunistically green mobility, repowering / revamping (especially for wind) and geothermal projects.
PCP’s goal is to help developers and target companies carry out their projects by offering them equity, quasi equity, equity bridge, subordinated / mezzanine debt and early-stage development capital.
PCP operates under an integrated model by running three complementary activities: (i) Primary investment, i.e. investing into projects and companies, (ii) Secondary investment and (iii) Asset management, i.e. the operational management of projects, from their construction to their commissioning and operation thereafter.
PCP execute deals with a “go small, go simple, go early” strategy, implemented through standardized processes in order to deploy capital swiftly and in line with our ESG criteria.
-
We differentiate ourselves from the competition with a flexible structure, a proprietary expertise (tailored financing solutions, cost monitoring, O&M experience, etc.), a proprietary pipeline and a large business network.
-
Our partnerships with developers are win-wins: we help them grow, and on our side, we can secure a pipeline and pre-empt opportunities from the competition.
Our action plan
PCP has started investing on its balance sheet in 2018 and needs additional funds from anchor investors to finance its growth.
Who we are
Edouard Fabry
After 10+ years in finance and infrastructure investments, Edouard Fabry is the founder and President of PCP.
From the investment side, Edouard was responsible for the development and management of the REN investments of a major listed infrastructure fund, primarily in France. While closing deals, Edouard has spent the last years building up his network of developers, investors and bankers and strengthening his understanding of the REN sector.
In that role, Edouard noticed that good opportunities are often disregarded by major players because of their small size, and that larger structures often lack the flexibility required to (i) effectively accompany developers, (ii) invest along entrepreneurs and (iii) enter into projects and ventures at an early stage. The idea of addressing this gap was the start of PCP.
Alain Villeneuve
Alain Villeneuve joined PCP in November 2017 as Managing Partner, after being convinced by the strategy, the market need for an actor such as PCP and by the positive impact of PCP’s targeted activities. Alain has already worked with Edouard in the past.
Alain is a professional with 10+ years of experience across a wide range of positions around REN and Infrastructure investments.
Immediately before joining, Alain was advising a major French regional bank on a merger with its neighboring peer. Prior to this experience, Alain had worked on many transactions for various types of actors, both on the investment and advising sides: developers, financial investors, large corporates and banks/financial advisors (total >EUR 10bn). Alain has worked mainly on real asset sectors and has progressively become expert at managing projects and at negotiating with banks, public authorities and co-investors.
In October 2018, Jean-Pascal Tranié and Laura Develter joined PCP as partners after being convinced by the strategy. Jean-Pascal and Laura support PCP’s activities while holding top positions at Aloe Private Equity, a regulated investment management company in France.
Jean-Pascal Tranié
Jean-Pascal co-founded Aloe Private Equity in 2003. Prior to Aloe PE, Jean-Pascal founded and was General Managing Partner of Viventures Partners. He cumulates 30+ years of experience, including 20 in PE, with a specialization in environmental and tech industries. Jean-Pascal has invested several hundreds of millions in energy transition assets (>1GW managed), with an experience spanning the whole investment cycle.
Laura Develter
Laura has been Aloe Private Equity's Chief Financial Officer since 2015. Laura is also managing Aloe’s trustee activities (pursuant to the introduction of “fiducies” in the French law in 2007). Laura has a strong experience in portfolio management and in investor relations.
PCP is assisted by senior advisors specialized in REN and with a deep investment experience, topping their respective fields (legal, financing, technical etc.).
